Summer 2015 saw the return of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and the defending race winner, Lewis Hamilton once again took pole position. In and amongst the crowds and the famous faces were some of our very own temporary workers. Mecco had been given the opportunity to cater at this world class event, and due to the popularity of the British Grand Prix, were in need of additional temporary support.
We had been working with Mecco for a short time prior to Silverstone providing staff at their site to do a mixture of picking & packing and kitchen porter work. When we received the phone call regarding Silverstone, we were eager to continue the development of our existing relationship and work with them at this level.
Mecco needed a high volume of temporary workers – and fast. We utilised our existing database of strong candidates, advertising and social media to ensure that we could not only recruit the numbers needed, but also the quality of individual needed to meet their exacting standards.
We met and thoroughly interviewed each person to ensure they were best possible candidates to undertake the roles of kitchen porter, general front of house and front of house within the drivers lounge. In addition to this, due to the volume of staff and the location we assisted this booking by organising transport for each temporary staff member at no cost to the client. We hired a mini bus and ensured that one of the workers was fully qualified and had the relevant experience to drive this vehicle.
We developed strong communication links with Mecco and ensured they were regularly updated on the progress of this booking. Overall we supplied 30 temporary workers on each day at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. Today, we continue to work with Mecco to assist them with their requirements for catering staff.
